I’m sad because it’s the end of exams. I like exams. I like the quietude and the order of read-a-question-answer-a-question.
I found the exams fairly easy. In the French exam, I tried to write “the ball often hits me instead of the bat” (in the context of cricket), though I didn’t know the words for “hit” and “bat”. I used “meet” (rencontrer) instead of “hit”, and for bat, I used the compound-word I knew that meant “bat”, the flying mammal (chauve-souris). So the sentence became: “The ball often meets me, not the bat [that flies on leathery wings]” “Le ballon souvent rencontre me, pas la chauve-souris”.
